Workout Description

Amrap 15 minutes 100m single arm carry 22.5 kg 140m shuttle runs 30 dumbbell hang snatches 22.5kg

Why This Workout Is Hard

This 15-minute AMRAP combines moderate loading (22.5kg) with high volume and continuous work. The single-arm carry demands grip/core stability, shuttle runs create cardiovascular demand, and hang snatches require technical execution under fatigue. The sequence forces athletes to cycle through three distinct movement patterns without built-in recovery. Most average CrossFitters will complete 2-3 rounds, experiencing significant fatigue accumulation. The limiting factors—grip endurance, leg fatigue, and sustained intensity—converge to create a challenging workout requiring scaling for many.

Training Focus

This workout develops the following fitness attributes:

  • Stamina (8/10): High volume of dumbbell snatches and repeated shuttle runs challenge muscular endurance. Accumulating reps over 15 minutes tests sustained muscular output across multiple muscle groups.
  • Endurance (7/10): 15-minute AMRAP with continuous movement demands sustained cardiovascular output. Running and loaded carries maintain elevated heart rate throughout, testing aerobic capacity and work capacity.
  • Speed (7/10): AMRAP format demands quick transitions and consistent pacing to maximize rounds. Shuttle runs and repeated snatches require efficient cycling with minimal rest between movements.
  • Power (6/10): Hang snatches are inherently explosive movements requiring rapid hip extension and pulling power. However, fatigue accumulation reduces explosive output as rounds progress.
  • Strength (4/10): Moderate loads (22.5kg) are used, but the focus is muscular endurance rather than maximal strength. Single-arm carries demand stability but not peak force production.
  • Flexibility (3/10): Dumbbell hang snatches require shoulder mobility and hip flexibility, but demands are moderate. Running and carries need basic ankle and hip mobility only.

Movements

  • Shuttle Run
  • Single-Arm Farmer Carry

Modality Profile

Single-Arm Farmer Carry is Weightlifting (external load carry). Shuttle Run is Monostructural (cyclical cardio/running). Dumbbell Hang Snatch is Weightlifting (external load Olympic lift variation). Distribution: 1 Monostructural, 2 Weightlifting movements.
