Why This Workout Is Hard
The 21-15-9 rep scheme with thrusters and pull-ups creates continuous high-intensity work with minimal rest. Thrusters demand significant leg and shoulder endurance while pull-ups follow immediately, causing grip and shoulder fatigue accumulation. The moderate loading (typically 95/65) is manageable individually, but the unbroken volume and movement interference make this challenging. Most average athletes will complete within the 12-minute cap but experience substantial fatigue, requiring some to break sets earlier than expected.

Thruster is a weightlifting movement (barbell with external load). Pull-Up is a gymnastics movement (bodyweight). Two movements split evenly across two modalities.
