Workout Description

AMRAP 15: 100m DB carry 22.5kg 10 shuttle runs (14m) 30 alternating DB hang snatches 22.5kg

Why This Workout Is Hard

This 15-minute AMRAP combines moderate loading (22.5kg DBs) with high volume and continuous work. The 100m carry demands grip endurance, shuttle runs create cardiovascular demand and leg fatigue, then 30 hang snatches hit fatigued legs and grip. The sequence creates compounding fatigue—grip is taxed early and never recovers, while legs accumulate stress. Most average athletes complete 2-3 rounds, experiencing significant fatigue accumulation with no built-in recovery. The combination of volume, movement interference, and time pressure elevates this beyond Medium difficulty.

Training Focus

This workout develops the following fitness attributes:

  • Stamina (8/10): High rep hang snatches combined with loaded carries and repeated shuttle runs challenge muscular endurance across multiple muscle groups. Volume accumulates significantly over 15 minutes.
  • Endurance (7/10): 15-minute AMRAP with continuous movement demands sustained cardiovascular output. DB carries and shuttle runs maintain elevated heart rate throughout, testing aerobic capacity and work capacity.
  • Speed (7/10): AMRAP format incentivizes fast cycling and minimal transitions. Shuttle runs demand quick feet and rapid direction changes. Continuous pacing without rest periods emphasizes speed.
  • Power (6/10): Hang snatches are inherently explosive movements requiring rapid hip extension and pulling power. Shuttle runs demand quick directional changes and acceleration, creating power demands.
  • Strength (5/10): 22.5kg DBs provide moderate loading for carries and snatches. Not maximal strength work, but sufficient load to demand force production alongside endurance demands.
  • Flexibility (3/10): Hang snatches require shoulder mobility and hip extension. DB carries demand shoulder stability. Overall mobility demands are moderate and basic for these movements.
