Workout Description

100 burpeesA bunch of other random shit

Why This Workout Is Hard

100 burpees alone is a significant cardiovascular and muscular endurance challenge, taking most average athletes 12-18 minutes of near-continuous work with compounding fatigue. The undefined additional work ('random shit') cannot be properly assessed, but the burpee volume alone anchors this at Hard. If the additional elements involve pulling or pressing movements, shoulder fatigue from burpees makes them significantly harder in combination.

Training Focus

This workout develops the following fitness attributes:

  • Stamina (8/10): 100 repetitions of a full-body movement is a classic muscular endurance challenge. Shoulders, chest, legs, and core all accumulate fatigue, requiring high muscular stamina to maintain output.
  • Endurance (7/10): 100 burpees sustained over time creates significant cardiovascular demand. The continuous full-body movement pattern elevates heart rate substantially, making aerobic capacity a primary limiter throughout the workout.
  • Speed (5/10): Cycling rate and transition efficiency between the floor and standing position directly impact total time. Maintaining a sustainable but consistent pace without excessive rest is key to performance.
  • Power (3/10): The jump at the top of each burpee introduces a repeated explosive element. However, at 100 reps the focus shifts away from power output toward fatigue management and pacing.
  • Flexibility (2/10): Burpees require basic hip flexor mobility, thoracic extension, and ankle flexibility for the squat thrust and stand. No extreme range of motion demands; most athletes have sufficient mobility.
  • Strength (1/10): Burpees are purely bodyweight with no external loading. Strength plays a minimal role; relative bodyweight strength is sufficient to complete each rep without meaningful maximal force production.
