Why This Workout Is Hard

This is a grinding, full-body accumulator with several compounding fatigue factors. Sandbag bear crawls and suitcase lunges (150' total each) destroy grip and core, directly degrading the bookending Turkish getups — 10 TGUs at the end under shoulder and grip fatigue is a serious demand. The 54" box plate moves are an awkward overhead challenge. Forty-five total GHD sit-ups and three rounds of continuous odd-object work create significant systemic fatigue over a likely 40-50 minute effort.

Training Focus

This workout develops the following fitness attributes:

  • Stamina (8/10): High muscular endurance challenge across the whole body — bear crawls, weighted lunges, GHD sit-ups, landmines, and Turkish getups accumulate significant volume targeting trunk, hips, shoulders, and legs across all rounds.
  • Flexibility (7/10): Turkish getups require thoracic, shoulder, and hip mobility. GHD sit-ups demand hip flexor length and lumbar extension. Bear crawls stress shoulder and wrist mobility. Flexibility is a notable limiting factor in this workout.
  • Strength (6/10): Moderate to moderately heavy loads throughout — 50# sandbag carries and lunges, 45# landmines, 35# Turkish getups, and plate over a 54-inch box demand meaningful force production without reaching maximal strength territory.
  • Endurance (5/10): Three rounds of continuous movement across multiple exercises creates a moderate cardiovascular demand. Not pure cardio, but sustained transitions and loaded carries elevate heart rate throughout the session.
  • Power (3/10): The plate over 54-inch box has a short explosive component, and landmines involve rotational drive. However, the majority of movements are slow, controlled grinds — bear crawls, lunges, and Turkish getups — limiting power demand overall.
  • Speed (2/10): This workout is structured as a deliberate grind. Movements like Turkish getups, bear crawls, and loaded lunges require controlled, methodical pacing. Sprint cycling is neither possible nor beneficial here.
