Workout Description
For Time
50 Cleans (135/95 lb)
75 Toes-to-Bars
100 Wall Ball Shots (20/14 lb)
Why This Workout Is Very Hard
This workout stacks three high-volume movements sequentially with no built-in rest. The 50 cleans at 135/95 lb are already Grace-level volume, then 75 toes-to-bars destroy grip and hip flexors, and 100 wall balls finish off legs and lungs. Each movement compounds fatigue from the previous — grip fails on T2B after cleans, legs are cooked for wall balls. Expect 25-40+ minutes for average athletes, with heavy scaling required.

Training Focus
This workout develops the following fitness attributes:
- Stamina (9/10): Extremely high volume — 50 cleans, 75 toes-to-bars, and 100 wall balls — creates severe muscular endurance demands on the posterior chain, core, hip flexors, and legs cumulatively.
- Endurance (7/10): 225 total reps across three movements sustains elevated heart rate throughout. The for-time format with no rest periods demands continuous cardiovascular output over an extended duration.
- Speed (6/10): For-time format incentivizes efficient cycling and fast transitions between movements. Bar cycling on cleans and consistent wall ball rhythm are critical to competitive finishing times.
- Strength (5/10): 135/95 lb cleans require meaningful load management, but the high rep count shifts the stimulus away from maximal strength toward muscular endurance at a moderate barbell load.
- Flexibility (5/10): Toes-to-bars demand active hip flexor and hamstring mobility. Cleans require adequate shoulder and wrist flexibility. Wall balls need solid squat depth and thoracic extension.
- Power (5/10): Cleans are inherently explosive movements requiring hip drive and bar speed. However, the 50-rep volume forces athletes to temper power output, blending explosive technique with fatigue management.

- Wall Ball
- Toes-to-Bar

Scaling Options
Weight: Reduce cleans to 95/65 lb for athletes who cannot cycle 135/95 lb efficiently, or 75/55 lb for newer athletes. Movement substitutions: Sub hanging knee raises or V-ups for Toes-to-Bars if athletes cannot string together 3+ reps. Sub a lighter wall ball (14/10 lb) or reduce target height. Volume: Reduce to 35 Cleans / 50 Toes-to-Bars / 75 Wall Balls for intermediate athletes, or 25 Cleans / 35 Hanging Knee Raises / 50 Wall Balls for beginners. If cleans are a limiting factor due to technique, sub dumbbell hang power cleans at an appropriate load.
Scaling Explanation
Scale if you cannot perform at least 5 touch-and-go cleans at the prescribed weight with sound mechanics, or if you cannot do 3+ consecutive Toes-to-Bars. The goal is to finish this workout in the 20-35 minute window — if Rx loads or movements would push you past 40 minutes or cause technique breakdown, scaling is the right call. Prioritize movement quality over load, especially on the cleans where a fatigued back under a heavy bar is a real injury risk. Newer athletes should treat this as a skill and conditioning builder, not a suffer-fest — scale volume aggressively so you can maintain form throughout.
Intended Stimulus
This is a long, grinding chipper designed to test your mental toughness and aerobic engine over a 20-40 minute time domain. The workout demands sustained effort across three very different movement patterns — a barbell cycling movement, a gymnastics skill, and a high-rep conditioning piece. The primary challenge is mental: managing fatigue across 225 total reps while keeping your head in the game when the volume feels overwhelming. Expect your grip, midline, and legs to be taxed simultaneously. The energy demand is a long steady engine with pockets of harder effort on the cleans.
Coach Insight
Attack this chipper with a clear plan before you start — improvising under fatigue leads to death spirals. On the 50 Cleans, resist the urge to go unbroken early. Sets of 5-7 reps with short, deliberate rest (10-15 seconds) will serve you far better than burning out in the first 10 minutes. Use a hook grip, keep the bar close, and cycle with a fast elbow turnover. On Toes-to-Bars, break early and often — sets of 10-15 to start, dropping to 5-8 as fatigue sets in. Kip efficiently and avoid the 'death swing' that kills your rhythm. Shake out your grip between sets. Wall Balls are your redemption movement — find a sustainable cadence of 10-15 unbroken and grind. Keep your chest up, hit depth on every squat, and aim for the same spot on the wall every rep. Common mistakes: going too hard on cleans and arriving at T2B with nothing left, letting T2B sets get too long and tearing hands, and losing wall ball rhythm by staring at the floor. Suggested rep schemes: Cleans 7-7-7-7-7-7-8, T2B 10-10-10-10-10-10-5-5, Wall Balls 15-15-15-15-15-10-10.
Benchmark Notes
50 cleans at 135/95 lb, 75 toes-to-bars and 100 wall balls. L5 (15-17:30) breaks the toes-to-bars into sets of 6-8 and the wall balls into sets of 15-20. L10 (under 7:50) holds sets of 25 on both.
Modality Profile
Three movements: Clean (W), Toes-to-Bar (G), Wall Ball (W). Two weightlifting movements and one gymnastics movement. With no monostructural component, this breaks down to approximately G: 33%, M: 0%, W: 67%.
